The Appleby Fire Department relies greatly on donations given by generous citizens of our community. The costs of operating a fire department are very large and they grow every year. Equipment, truck maintenance, training, fuel and staffing are just a few of the expenses that get larger nearly every year. We are proud to have a 3 paid firefighter/EMT's on duty 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday. These firemen not only greatly increase response times, while our volunteer are at work, they also take a load off of our volunteer members during the daytime hours. These paid positions are only partially paid for by a grant and we will eventually be bearing the whole cost of having these firemen on duty.

As many of you know, we have also recently moved into our much needed new fire station. We will be paying for this station for many years to come and we cannot do it without your help.
